Masking Tape FAQ?

Step by Step apply masking tape before car spraying

Here are the steps for applying high temperature masking tape during car spraying:

  1. Make sure the surface you will be spraying is clean and dry.

  2. Cut the masking tape to the desired length and peel off the backing.

  3. Starting at one end, apply the tape to the area you want to mask off, pressing it down firmly as you go.

  4. Use a tool such as a scraper or a credit card to smooth out the tape and ensure that it is properly adhered to the surface.

  5. Repeat the process until all the areas you want to mask off are covered with tape.

  6. Allow the tape to set for a few minutes before spraying to ensure that it is fully adhered to the surface.

  7. Begin spraying the area, being careful not to overspray onto the masked off areas.

  8. Once the painting is complete, carefully remove the tape by pulling it back on itself at a 180-degree angle. Avoid pulling the tape straight off as this can cause it to lift the paint.

  9. Allow the paint to dry completely before removing the tape.

The most common hi temp masking tape in Malaysia is Apollo masking tape and Bondmat Anchor masking tape.
